Angelica joined the KCBY news team in August 2013. She comes to the southern coast after studying at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Angelica was raised in southern New Mexico and Arizona. She grew up aspiring to become a doctor, pursuing a pre-medical career throughout college. Upon entering a newsroom for the first time, her heart changed completely.

She anchored, reported and produced for her school's newscast, UNM News. Angelica also interned for KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, NM where she had the opportunity to learn from incredible mentors and journalists.

In the rare event of spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, golfing, Netflix and exploring new pizza places.

Coos Bay brought in New Year’s Day with the annual Polar Bear Plunge, a world-wide tradition of jumping into frigid water to clear your body and mind for the year ahead. Dozens lined the beach to celebrate the 2014 plunge into the Pacific Ocean. Doctors were on-hand just in case the water was a little too cold for the swimmers.
