Elissa is an award-winning journalist with experience reporting, anchoring, and producing for both radio and television. She works at KVAL as a general assignment reporter.

Elissa was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She moved to Oregon to study Journalism and French at the University of Oregon and worked as the sports anchor and producer for "Duck-U TV." Elissa studied abroad in Sydney, Australia, where she interned as a news reporter for 2GB radio, Sydney's #1 news station.

In Sydney, Elissa attended interviews with a number of high-ranked government officials, including former Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs Kevin Rudd who is now the Prime Minister of Australia. She covered Olympic Athletes as they trained for 2004 games in Athens, met with Australian soldiers as they returned home from war, and followed high profile police cases.

Back in the U.S., Elissa reported at Clear Channel's 1120 KPNW in Eugene. She also produced and hosted her own weekly public affairs show. She began working at KVAL in 2007. Since then, the Associated Press has honored her with numerous awards including "Best News Writing," and "Best Hard News." Her contributing reports also earned first place awards for "Best Breaking News" and "Best Continuous Coverage." Some of Elissa's most memorable stories include
interviewing President Barack Obama during his campaign stop in Oregon, covering the 2008 Olympic Trials, and being inside an operating room to witness and report on "Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery."

Elissa has a passion for world travel and so far, has traveled through four continents and 14 different countries. In her spare time, she enjoys music, playing
