Mobile home destroyed by fire

NEAR ROSEBURG, Ore. - A house fire on Silvermaple Street west of Roseburg leaves one family without a home.

The fire, which appears to have started in the kitchen, gutted half the old mobile home, but Douglas County Fire District Two and Lookingglass Fire were able to knock the fire down quickly.

The call came in around 4:15 Thursday afternoon and the two fire departments were able to keep the structure from being a total loss.

The cause and damage estimates are too early to tell, but one eyewitness says the fire appears to have started in the kitchen area.
