Robber sentenced to 23 years
By KPIC Web Staff
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The woman who pleaded guilty to robbing several businesses in the Roseburg area with what turned out to be a fake gun has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.
Investigators said Bonnie Darlene Doan and an accomplice struck five times between May and July of last year at businesses in central Douglas County. The businesses were located in Roseburg, Green and Winchester. Douglas County Judge Ronald Poole said the sentence will run concurrent to the 70 months Doan got in Marion County for a September holdup of a coffee shop. Doan's alleged accomplice, Jonathan Siebenthaler, goes on trial Thursday. Poole said he was bothered that the 33-year-old Doan didn't learn anything from a 1997 conviction. In that case, Doan and an accomplice took two clerks to a back room at knife point and bound them with plastic ties before making off with $3,000. |
