Roseburg parking regulations relaxed
By Lindsey KovacevichThere have been new changes made regarding parking in the downtown Roseburg area.
At Monday nights council meeting, the city council accepted some new revisions to the parking guidelines in downtown.
"The rule used to be if you were an employer downtown and your car was tagged, in a sense that it could not be in the downtown parking area, so if you park there during the weekends or in the evenings then that was against the rules," said Mayor Larry Rich
Now employees can park in those areas during nights, weekends and on holidays, but still not during business hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This includes employees, contract service providers and people attending school in the parking district.
Another change to the parking regulations is that you don't have to park exactly within the white lines. Some of the larger cars don't fit within those lines.
If you are within reason there will be no citations given out for not staying within the lines. The new regulation goes into effect within 30 days. |
