Postage going up again
By Lindsey Kovacevich, KPIC NewsROSEBURG, Ore. -- Postage is going to go up once again at the post office. Starting on January 18, prices for certain packages will be going up. Some of the increased prices are on express mail, priority mail, parcel select, parcel return service, global express guaranteed, express mail international, priority mail international and M-bags. Jerry Copelin, the Postmaster at the Roseburg Post Office says the increased prices have to do with a few things. The price to transport mail has gone up, and the airlines are still charging a surcharge for goods to be shipped, even though the price of gas has gone down. The post office, he says, doesn't impose fuel surcharges, hidden surcharges or surcharges for residential or Saturday delivery. To find out more details about the changes you can go to the Postal Service Web site. |
