ROSEBURG, Ore. - The North River Boats manufacturing facility in the Green District closed Thursday afternoon, and according to several reports KPIC received on Thursday from now former employees, the company is filing for bankruptcy.

Employees were also reportedly told, according to calls we received, that the company would not be able to pay it's employees for this pay period. Employees were told they would have to file with the state to get their pay.

Earlier this month, the FBI served a search warrant at the company's facility on Green Siding Road, and confiscated records and computers.

The U.S. District Court in Eugene released the search warrant documents, which stated that North River had been using fraud to inflate their inventory to receive larger loans from their bank.

The company had closed its retail stores earlier in the year, citing poor market conditions.

KPIC will continue to follow this story as it develops.
