ROSEBURG, Ore. -- This weekend marks the country's birthday and a spectacular fireworks show will be back again this year in Roseburg.

Stewart Park will host another year of family activities and the fireworks will culminate the events on the 4th of July.

There will  be more vendors this year than last, both at Stewart Park and Fir Grove Park across the river. "Local entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m., and then Amy Clawson will be there later in the evening, which is a draw for folks coming for just the fireworks and certainly picnicking with your families before hand."

This year's budget was around $21,000 for the fireworks and music only, with some surprises. "We also have the new expense of synchronized music with the fireworks and that's where we've needed to raise extra funds to allow the concert for Amy Clawson and have music available for during the show."

There will be extra patrols out that evening to help alleviate traffic congestion after the show, and members of the fireworks committee advise to carpool or park at the high school and walk along Harvard to help limit traffic and crammed parking in the park.

There is also a jet flyover planned for Saturday afternoon with the F-15 Eagle jets planning to roar over Roseburg just after 2:00 p.m.
