ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A crash in the Green District Tuesday morning injured two people and destroyed taxi cab.

Oregon State Police say just before 7:30 a.m., a Sunshine Taxi driven by Timothy Davis, 44, of Roseburg, was westbound on Highway 99 at Carnes Road, when it went through a red light and rammed into the rear of a Chevy pickup truck.

The car lodged beneath the rear of the pickup.

Davis was transported to Mercy Medical Center and then transported to Sacred Heart in Eugene for treatment.

Police say his car hit the pickup at about 45 to 50 miles an hour.

The driver of the pickup, Blaine Painter, 49, of Roseburg, traveled to the hospital on his own to be checked out for injuries.

The taxi appeared to be totaled and the pickup was badly damaged as well.
