Girl, 17, killed in Jeep crash in Canyonville

CANYONVILLE, Ore. -- A 17-year-old girl died after being thrown from a Jeep Wrangler as the vehicle overturned multiple times down a 200-foot embankment early Monday morning.

Marissa Pratt, 17, of Canyonville, Ore., died at the scene of the crash.

Pratt was one of four people in the 2006 Jeep Wrangler when it went off the roadway in a corner and overturned several times before coming to rest 200 feet down an embankment. The crash happened on Ritchie Road around 5 a.m. Monday.

Investigators do not yet know who was driving or what caused the crash.

The other three occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital, but the sheriff's office did not know their injuries. Investigators identified them as Nicholas Oliver Wilborn, 22; Fidencio Joseph Yanez, 22; and a 16-year-old girl, all of Myrtle Creek, Ore.
