PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Former Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury is entering the race to be the state's next governor.

Bradbury is scheduled to make a formal announcement Thursday. He will be the second Democrat to enter the fray.

Former Gov. John Kitzhaber announced earlier this month that he would be seeking a third term.

Congressman Peter DeFazio is still a potential candidate, though there is wide speculation he'll sit the race out and run for re-election to his House seat instead.

On the Republican side, three Republicans are running — former businessman Allen Alley, state Sen. Jason Atkinson of Central Point and former legislator John Lim.

Attorney General John Kroger is scheduled to endorse Kitzhaber this morning. Former Gov. Barbara Roberts is scheduled to endorse Bradbury after the official announcement.
