ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The downtown Neewollah Parade drew about 200 kids and parents Saturday afternoon.

The downtown merchants host the event every year to give the kids a chance to show off their costumes in a parade that goes up Jackson Street through the business area.

After they finished the parade route, the kids got a chance to do a little trick-or-treating on the way back up the street.

Most of the merchants were out in front of their stores with candy and other goodies to offer the little ones.

The event is planned to give the kids a good safe place to do their trick or treating, where the adults can go with them along the route.

Some of the merchants say the turnout seemed to be about what it has been in past years.
