Douglas County Sheriff's office locates wanted subject

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Douglas County Sheriff's officers have located the suspect they wanted on a felony parole violation warrant.

On Sunday night at around 11:55, the Sheriff's Office received information as to the possible whereabouts of Nicholas Varnum, 24.

Sheriff's Deputies responded to a residence in the 400 block of Quail Lane in Roseburg, and Varnum was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Douglas County Jail.

Besides the Parole Violation, Varnum was charged with First Degree Burglary, First Degree Theft and Second Degree Criminal Mischief.

On November 22, deputies investigated a burglary that in the 100 block of Village Drive in Roseburg. The victim reported forced entry into the residence and property missing, including a computer and some tools.

Some of this property was located in the residence where Varnum was taken into custody.

The case is still under investigation.
