ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Douglas County Building Department says the Costco plans are approved and ready to be picked up.

The wholesale-retail giant plans to build a 150,000 square foot facility on 16 acres just north of the old Perry's property on Northeast Stephens.

The property is now annexed into the City of Roseburg and is zoned so the business can locate there.

City officials say the window for appeal has expired and Costco can now go full speed ahead on construction.

Crews will start with preparing the lot and putting in the infrastructure, and city officials say they are holding off on moving dirt and grading until the weather improves.

City officials say they still expect to be on schedule and have the store opened by next fall.

The plans call for demolishing the old EOFF building right next to Stephens Street and remodeling the old Perry's building so that a new business can locate there.
