ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Oregon State Troopers arrested 60 year old Sigrie Potter of Pleasanton, California after numerous motorists called in the wrong way driver around 5:30PM.

Potter was reportedly driving southbound on the northbound side of Interstate-5 before she was able to get turned around at the 119 interchange.

Potter was located by O.S.P. once her vehicle was turned around, near mile post 113, as she was traveling on the right shoulder. A consented breath test revealed that potter had a blood alcohol content of .25%, over three times the legal limit.

"If somebody doesn't almost immediately recognize that they're traveling the wrong way on the freeway, it's generally someone that's very intoxicated and they don't know what they're doing anyway," explained Lt. Doug Ladd of the Roseburg Area Command.

State Police say with such a heavy flow of traffic down the I-5 corridor, wrong way drivers aren't real common, still she's lucky to be alive.

"To be very blunt, typically if we have a wrong way driver on the freeway, we have a head on collision and quite often there's a fatality involved," described Ladd. "It's a very, very dangerous situation."

Potter was arrested for Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering-II, and DUII.
