Police say they have apparently found the body of a Canyonville man who was missing for more than a week, and they're investigating it as a homicide.

27-year old Kevin Omann had been missing since September 8th, when he was last seen in the Milo area.

Officials are conducting an autopsy to determine positive identification, the cause of death and how long he had been dead.

Officers say the body was found Monday morning in the same area as the pickup Omann was driving when he was last seen. It was in a remote area up Corn Creek Road, just west of Milo in southeastern Douglas County.

"One of the deputies discovered the body of an adult male and based on some description and some clothing items, we believe that is the body of Kevin Omann," said Deputy Dwes Hutson of the Douglas County Sheriff's office.

Hutson says the body had been there for a few days before being discovered.

Police are asking that if anyone saw Omann or his light brown Chevy Silverado pickup truck in the area in the last week to call them with any information at 440-4471.
