EUGENE, Ore. - Police released the identity of a suspect captured in the wake of a reported burglary and shots fired that left another suspect dead.

Police booked Darrin George Dubouch, 39, of Coburg into the Lane County Jail on accusations of second degree robbery and first degree burglary.

Saturday, police identified the dead man as Shawn Jeffrey Connelly, 44, of Springfield.

The victim at home at the time has been identified as a 27-year-old man.

Police said they received a call Thursday afternoon from a man who reported people were forcing their way into his home. The caller got a handgun, and shot one of the intruders.

The second intruder, believed to be Dubouch, took off running.

With the help of a K-9 Unit, police found Dubouch about half an hour later.

"There's reason to believe it's a targeted incident," said Eugene Police Detective Matt Herbert.

Herbert said it's possible drugs are involved.

Friday morning, Police and Lane County Search and Rescue searched the shrubs near the home on Stoney Ridge Road.

A KVAL News crew saw officers examining a wallet.
