Police say man with pot cooperated, leads to arrest of distributor

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Oregon State Police say a Washington man who was stopped on Interstate 5 with a load of marijuana in his vehicle, has cooperated with police, leading to another arrest in Washington.

Troopers pulled over a Dodge Ram pickup pulling a trailer for traffic violations last Thursday just after 5:00 p.m.

After they got consent to search the vehicle, their K-9 search dog Charger located 24 pounds of marijuana in the pick-up bed.

The driver, Kevin McKeag, 29, of Chattaroy, Washington, was charged with Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Marijuana.

Walt Marquis with the O.S.P. High Interdiction Team in Salem says McKeag cooperated with police, and took the load to a distributor in Spokane, Washington and sold it.

Officers then served a search warrant and the distributor was arrested.

Marquis says the marijuana has a street value of between $1,600-$1,700 a pound.
