Reed Van Anrooy - KPIC Student Athlete of the Week
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Reed Van Anrooy, a junior at Roseburg High School, just missed a state championship last year, finishing second in the state.
This season he is the top ranked wrestler in the state, with a 30-2 record.
He comes from a family of outstanding wrestlers. "Yeah, my dad wrestled and he taught us a lot of things not only about wrestling, but about life, and so, he got us started when we were young and we ended up liking it," he said. "We just kept going with it and had some success."
Reed has a 4.0 GPA, and hasn't decided what he'll do after high school, but he'd definitely like to wrestle somewhere. "Yeah, I'm trying to keep my options open by getting A's in every class, because that'll keep the doors open."
