Fees going up at local golf course
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Those looking to lounge around on the links are going to have to spend a little more.
The Roseburg Parks Commission voted Wednesday morning to approve an increase in daily green fees for the Stewart Park Golf Course.
The course has four different greens fees, and they're all being raised by $2.
Officials say they had to up the cost to keep the course up and running. Barbara Taylor, the Parks and Rec Program Manager told KPIC News about the increases. "Fees needed to be addressed really, just to try and make ends meet at the golf course."
The course is an enterprise fund, which means it needs to be self-sustaining.
Though fees are being increased, Taylor says they're still lower than they were several years ago.
The new rates will kick in June 1.
