BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — A TV show made in Eastern Oregon that combines underground mining and paranormal investigations has been renewed for a second season.
The Baker City Herald reports that "Ghost Mine" will have 12 new hour episodes beginning in September on the Syfy channel.
"Ghost Mine" was filmed at what's known as the Buckeye Mine group in the Elkhorn Mountains about eight miles north of Sumpter in Baker County.
It portrays miners who are joined by a pair of paranormal investigators who try to help figure out the cause of phenomena such as noises and apparitions in the mine.
The first season had six one-hour episodes. It included visits to the Sumpter dredge and other sites around Sumpter, a one-time mining center west of Baker City.
