YONCALLA, Ore. - An autopsy performed Tuesday on a 26-year-old Eugene man found dead early Monday morning on Interstate 5 determined he died as the result of jumping or falling from the overpass.

The body of Jesse Golden was found early Monday on the northbound shoulder of Interstate 5 about two miles north of Yoncalla.

According to Sergeant Lynn Withers, the investigation by Oregon State Police and Douglas County Medical Examiner indicates Golden died after jumping or falling approximately 28 feet from the area of the Cox Road overpass onto the pavement below.

There is no evidence that another person was involved or he was struck by a vehicle.
