The Wildlife Safari celebrated the 2nd birthday of Sanurra, an orphaned cheetah they raised alongside a puppy.

The two are still best friends, and keep each other company during supervised visits.

The Safari staff showed Sanurra off to Safari guests in the village on Friday.

"We got her a companion animal, and that was Ellie, our Anatolian Shepherd. Ellie's breed in the wild is actually helping to save the cheetah."

The dog breed is said to protect livestock from wildcats and cheetahs in the wild, and that keeps farmers from hunting the cheetahs and killing them.

Sanurra turned two years old Friday at Wildlife Safari in Winston.
