Traffic stop on I-5 turns into a drug bust



SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- Two people are in jail after Oregon State Police discovered two pounds of methamphetamine inside their car.

A State Trooper stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation along Interstate 5, south of Sutherlin, around 5:45 p.m. Friday. During the stop the trooper discovered methamphetamine located inside the vehicle and both the driver, Pedro Lares of Everett, Washington, and passenger, Norberto Torres Valdovinos from Redwood City, California were arrested.

The Roseburg Police Department assisted in the investigation and both men are now in the Douglas County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine.

OSP Drug Enforcement Section Detectives are continuing to investigate the case.
