Man pleads not guilty to beating little boy to death

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A man accused of beating a 2-year-old child to death pleaded not guilty Monday.
Mark Vanderhoof, 50, was charged with murder back in January for the death of Dennis Young.
Even though he entered a plea, his trial date has not been set. The court will hold a status hearing in August.
Vanderhoof was watching the 2-year-old when he claimed the boy fell off a deck.
He was later arrested after doctors found the boy's wounds suspicious.
