Roseburg man accused of child sex abuse

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man is in jail on sex abuse charges alleged to have happened more than 10 years ago.

James Kaineg, 68, was arrested after allegations of sex abuse from 1998 through 2002, against children that were in his wife's day care center in Glide.

The abuse was first reported to the Sheriff's Office on June 15 by a female who is now 15-years-old.

During the investigation two other victims were identified, both are now 19-year-old females.

The victims reported that the incidents happened when they were between 3 and 10-years-old while attending the daycare.

Kaineg was arrested at his residence on Aug. 5.

He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on First Degree Sexual Abuse, First Degree Sodomy and First Degree Unlawful Sexual Penetration.

Kaineg is not currently listed as being in jail on the Douglas County Web site.
