Reward upped for info on antelope poaching

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- The Oregon Hunter's Association (OHA) has increased the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible for illegally killing and dumping Antelope near Sutherlin.

The reward has increased from $250 to $1,000. OHA is now offering up to $500, and the OHA Ochoco Chapter is also throwing in up to $500.

Five antelope carcasses were found dumped in the Marvin Hill area in late September. The area was described as the first clear-cut along Marvin Hill Road on Seneca Timber Company-owned land.

OSP Fish & Wildlife troopers said the carcasses had all been salvaged except for one.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Trooper Wayne Merritt or Trooper Jason Stone at 541-440-3406.
