ROSEBURG - A local photographer may have caught a piece of the satellite Wednesday night in this time-lapse photo of the lunar eclipse.

Sherry Holub of JV Media Design set her camera up in her back yard and caught this photo of a streak alongside the moon during the eclipse.

The US Navy missile hit the disabled satellite at approximately 7:36 and this picture was taken at about 7:39 to 7:40 in Roseburg.

The eclipsing moon was in full shadow during the shoot-down of a broken satellite the size of a bus.

Pieces of satellite may be entering the atmosphere, and if this is a piece, it only lit up for a second, according to Holub. The bright spot in the left lower portion of the full-size photo is Saturn.
