2 injured in crash after tire blows, car rolls on I-5 north of Roseburg
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Two people went to the hospital after a tire blowout sent a car tumbling off Interstate 5 north of Roseburg on Thursday morning, fire crews at the scene told KPIC News.
Firefighters pulled a passenger from where she became trapped in the wreckage of the car after it rolled twice and came to rest on its side.
The passenger and the female driver were sent to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg. The driver had "significant injuries," according to firefighters.
A man in the backseat of the car was examined at the scene for bumps and bruises.
The victims told firefighters they heard a loud popping sound just before the car lost control and overturned around 9:30 a.m.
The car came to rest along the side of the northbound lanes.
The identities of the people involved are not yet available.
