MONROE, Ore. - A Monroe woman lost both arms in a farm accident early last Friday morning.

Shelley Durrant, 38, was digging holes in her sister's yard using a tractor auger. Some of her loose clothing got caught in the machine, sucked her arms in, tore one arm off to the shoulder and left the other completely mangled. Doctors had to amputate both.

Durrant is the mother of two teenage daughters - one whose MySpace page now contains the headline, "You can do it mommie."

Some friends have also left condolences and words of encouragement. Her family said Durrant's primary income is social security so they hope to raise money to help pay for her medical bills as well as a prosthetic arm.

Durrant is being treated at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland. She was flown there by a medical helicopter following Friday's accident.

A fund has been set up to help pay Shelley Durrant's medical bills.
