Just a week shy of the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Stephanie Condon, searchers took advantage of low water in Herbert's Pond to check for clues again.

Herbert's Pond is about a mile east of Canyonville off of the Tiller Trail Highway.

Thursday, searchers from the Sheriff's office and FBI were on the scene using special search devices to check the pond for possible signs of the girl that disappeared on October 30th of 1998. Condon disappeared while babysitting for a relative in Tri City, about seven miles away from the pond.

Investigators say they've searched the lake before, but this was a chance to do it more thoroughly while the water was down.

"The Condon Task Force members felt this was a good opportunity to do a more thorough search of that area. So yesterday, the task force was assisted by an evidence recovery team from the FBI. That team has some specialized equipment they were able to utilize, and do a pretty thorough search of that area," said Sheriff's Office Spokesman Dwes Hutson.

Hutson said the pond has always been of interest in the Condon investigation, but he said no body was found during the search.

This Thursday night, on the anniversary of the disappearance of Stephanie Condon, there will be a vigil at Riddle City Park, starting at 7:00 p.m., not at the high school as we previously aired.
