CANYONVILLE, Ore. -- A Winchester man was injured Thursday morning in a single vehicle accident south of Tri City.

Oregon State Police say 65-year-old Gary Gohman was traveling southbound in a 2007 Pontiac between Tri City and Canyonville, when his car went off the freeway and landed on it's top on Lawson Bar Road next to the freeway.

Gohman had to be extricated from the car and the steering wheel and seat belt had to be cut to get him out.

Amazingly, he was not seriously injured and was treated and released at Mercy Medical Center.

The car was badly damaged and possibly totaled in the crash.

Fortunately no other vehicles were hit in the accident.

Police say Gohman indicated a medical condition may have caused him to fall  asleep.
