Pursuit ends with patrol car getting hit
By KPIC NewsROSEBURG, Ore. -- A chase that started in Green Thursday evening ended in downtown Roseburg with an arrest and a patrol car getting crunched. Just after 7:00 p.m. Thursday night, Winston Police Officer Ralph Stiffler said he attempted to stop an older model Ford pickup near Landers Lane and Highway 99 in Green when he recognized the driver, who he said had a suspended license.
Officer Stiffler says speeds only reached about 60 miles per hour before the driver slowed down. The vehicle took the Harvard Avenue off-ramp and stopped at the Pine Street intersection. Officers tried to block the pickup but the driver put it in reverse and backed into the Sheriff's car. Officers quickly took the driver out of the vehicle and arrested her. She was identified as Kristina Harrelson, 48, of Winston. Harrelson was charged with Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief, Reckless Endangering, Driving While Suspended and DUII. The Sheriff's car did not appear to have serious damage and no one was injured in the pursuit. |
