By KPIC.com StaffLONG BEACH, Wa. -- North River Boats owner Brian K. Brush has been formally charged with first degree murder, which in the state of Washington carries a possible life sentence. Brush was arrested Friday by police officers who say they saw the man shooting into the grass near the beach, and when they confronted him, they discovered the body of his ex-girlfriend, Lisa Bonney. Police told The Daily News in Longview, Wash., that Brush and the 45-year-old Bonney were seen arguing at a beach-access point late Friday afternoon during a classic car rally that draws thousands of people and hot rods to the Long Beach Peninsula. Brush allegedly walked to his truck, retrieved a shotgun and fired three times, with the shots heard and seen by Long Beach police about 150 yards away, authorities said. Brush was emotional and spent nearly all of his probable cause hearing on Monday in tears. Wednesday, Brush was formally charged with first degree murder with aggravating factors.
