By Dan Bain KPIC NewsLONG BEACH, Wa. -- The arraignment for a Roseburg man accused of killing his former girlfriend in a Washington coastal town has been delayed until October. Brian Brush, 47, faces 1st degree murder charges for the shotgun killing of Lisa Bonney in Long Beach, Washington on September 11. The Chinook Observer, a Long Beach newspaper, reported that Brush appeared in superior court Friday, but Pacific County Prosecutor David Burke requested a delay to get a second search warrant for Brush's home on Long Beach. The defense agreed to the delay, waiving Brush's right to a speedy trial. The paper also reports that there is a question about whether Brush is entitled to a court-appointed attorney, after information was presented to the court that he has $42,000 in a bank account. The arraignment was set for October 2, and Brush is being held on $50 million bail. |
