Farmer's Market closes for the season
By Dan Bain KPIC NewsROSEBURG, Ore. -- It was the end of the season for the Umpqua Valley Farmers Market on Saturday. The market moved to it's new and hopefully permanent location on Diamond Lake Boulevard this year. It's near Dixon Steel right next to the Dutch Brothers coffee stand. They had a good variety of items for the final market of the year. There were lots of pumpkins, squash and other late growing plants. There were fall plants that people may want to get started before the cold weather hits or grow them in green houses. There were a lot of late vegetables, and they even had some some honey and eggs fresh from the farm. They even had a little pumpkin bowling, where the kids could roll the pumpkin and knock down the pins and win some prizes. That was their last market until next spring, when they hope to start again in that same location. |
