SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- The Sutherlin Police Department requested that the Douglas County Major Crimes Team review a use of force incident that occurred a week ago.

The police department requested a review be done on the use of force used in the incident involving Sutherlin Police Officer Jay Huskey's use of a Taser.

Erica Price, 36, was sent to a Portland hospital after serious head injuries that  may have resulted from the incident.

The major crimes team determined the officer's use of force was appropriate and justifiable.

Huskey responded to an unsecured medical aid call last Tuesday and used his Taser after Price allegedly became combative with him.

The review has been forwarded to Chief Mahler of the Sutherlin Police Department.
