Search for missing woman gets national attention

(Photo from MySpace) By Tim Novotny KCBY NewsCOQUILLE, Ore. - The search for 31-year-old Jayme Austin goes national as CNN's Nancy Grace spoke with Austin's mother, Cindy Gisholt, by phone Wednesday night. MultimediaGisholt shared some information not previously released by authorities: she told Grace her daughter had dealt with a cell-phone stalker in recent months and that there was evidence someone had used her shower on Monday -- it's just not certain whether or not it was her daughter. Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier said he would not comment on the condition of the bathroom, but did say they were looking into the stalker angle, although he doesn't know, really, how serious that was, or if it's connected. As for going public with some information they hadn't wanted to release, Frasier said he doesn't think that hurt the investigation at all. He said at this point, having pretty much exhausted searching the immediate area, they are falling back on old-fashioned police work, conducting interviews and following up leads. |
