Glide residents treated to free breakfast on Saturday
By Dan Bain KPIC NewsGLIDE, Ore. -- Some Glide students treated their community to a homemade breakfast just to say 'Thank You.' The FFA students at the high school decided to give back to the community, so they cooked breakfast for anyone who wanted to come in to the community center in Glide on Saturday morning. Everybody got pancakes and sausage for breakfast, courtesy of the all volunteer crew. "We've had a pretty good turnout, and this is through my 'Ag' class at school, the Glide FFA, and it's through a project called Community 101. So, this is just a community service that we're doing, and then later on we're going to be giving out grant money," said organizer Ashley Streilein. That money will be given to organizations in the community that have applied for the grants. They were also collecting food and clothes for the Helping Hands program that gives to needy families in the area. |
