MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- Firefighters saved a home in Myrtle Creek Wednesday morning, after a blaze apparently started from an electrical outlet problem.

The Tri City and Myrtle Creek Fire Departments were called to a house on Klimback Street, and thanks to the quick response, officials say the blaze was extinguished in about 10 minutes.

Firefighters said the cause appeared to be from too many electrical cords plugged into one outlet.

With extra lights and holiday decorations, firefighters want to remind people to use a surge protector and not to overload outlets.
