rust myself." One things for sure, the intense and passionate relationship between her and the hardwood can only be ultimately recognized by her leadership aside from basketball. "She's the kind of person that if you're a parent, you hope your children grow up to be like," admitted her coach Casey O'Toole. "She's obviously a bright, intelligent person. She's a great athlete, but I think probably from a coaching standpoint, the nicest thing I can say about her is that I can talk about her for a half an hour telling you how great she is, without once mentioning anything about basketball." The three season athlete wants to pursue basketball at a collegiate level and someday the hopes to give back to others through a possible career in the medical field.
OAKLAND, Ore. -- Riddle High School's junior Melino Gianotti describes herself as one word.... "Intense. Sometimes, not all the time, but most of the time," she admits. "I try and work my butt off, sacrificing my body. I mean our whole team does that and just sacrificing everything I've got." Speaking of sacrificing, Gianotti played through the pain of a sprained wrist against the Oakland Oakers Tuesday night. But ironically her biggest weakness may just lie in realizing her own potential. "Sometimes I don't realize how lucky I am… I just think 'Wow! Not everybody gets to play on a basketball team and not everybody gets good grades,' so I have a bunch of opportunities; I'm just trying to take advantage of all of it."
