Local nurse wants to help Haiti
By Glen Beeby KPIC NewsROSEBURG, Ore. -- Lori Stoe is a registered nurse who specializes in maternity care, and wants to help out with the relief effort in Haiti. Thanks to a non-profit organization, she has the opportunity to help in a country with one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world. Even though she has support from her co-workers, Stoe still trying to get the money together to pay for her trip. "Not everyone can take off from work and kids and all that and go where they are needed, but I'm fortunately in a position where I can do that, and those who can't can help with funds," said Stoe The Hot Spot store at the Roseburg Valley Mall is raising money for Lori's trip with their 'Haircuts-for-Haiti' drive. February 21, from 10:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m, all the money from hair cuts will go towards her trip. Donations can also be made at the Premier West Bank on Garden Valley Blvd. in Roseburg. |
