Helping Haiti one haircut at a time
By Glen Beeby KPIC News
ROSEBURG,Ore--Stylists will be donating all of the money from haircuts to help send a local nurse to Haiti for relief efforts. Candyce Porter helped organize the event, and says the shop really wanted to step up and help out. "well I was watching the news and seeing what everyone in Haiti was going through, and it made me feel like I needed to help and do something so we came up with haircuts for Haiti." Porter said.
The employees weren't sure what to do with the money they raised until one of Porter's clients told her about a nurse named Lori Stoe who was trying to get to Haiti. Now everyone is hoping the fundraiser will give Stoe the money she needs to pay for her trip. |
