Pappas home featured on national TV network
ROSEBURG, Ore. - A Douglas County home is being featured on a national TV network. Well, actually, one room of the home is being featured.
Tom and Bonnie Pappas live in a spectacular home high atop Roberts Mountain south of Roseburg, and Tuesday, a crew from the Home and Garden TV Network was there to do a special on their game room.
The network has a program called Million Dollar Room, and they were there shooting the Pappas' casino room that features a crap table from Las Vegas, an old player piano, and many other amazing features that makes it a million dollar room.
The producer of the segment, Emily Sinclair said they travel all over the country looking for interesting rooms, and this one caught their attention.
"What I find most interesting, and I think the audience is going to find interesting is all about the detail," said Sinclair. " Why did you put a swimming pool in your casino, type thing, why did you mount a Double Helix staircase in your library? It's all those intricate details that tell you about the homeowner. So you find out about the homeowner, why they did the things they did and how much it cost, because it's pretty amazing how much people will spend on making their dreams a reality," she said.
Bonnie Pappas said they have the house up for sale, although she said it will be tough to leave such a spectacular setting, but her husband Tom, who owns Victory Builders, has one more house in him, and some new ideas up his sleeve for the next one.
"We like showing the house off, we like showing what we have, and the work that Tom's done. Tom's done all the work on the house, and this has always been a really great place for family and friends and fun, and it's fun having HGTV show it off for us," said Bonnie.
The segment of the show that will feature the Pappas home is planned for September on the "Million Dollar Room" show on HGTV, the Home & Garden Network.
