Annual Pow Wow heading to UCC this weekend
WINCHESTER, Ore. -- The 33rd annual South Umpqua Pow Wow is coming to UCC this weekend.
Officials say it's the longest running pow wow on the I-5 corridor.
The event teaches Native American culture to all those who want to learn.
Historically, at least four tribal groups lived in the Umpqua region river basin, including the Southern Molalla, the Lower Umpqua Tribe, the Upper Umpqua Tribe and the Cow Creek Band of the Umpqua Tribe of Indians.
Traditional dancers and drum groups will be at the celebration, as well as food and craft vendors.
Doors open at noon at the south UCC gym.
Admission is free on both Saturday and Sunday.
