GLIDE, Ore. -- Officials say that about 2,000 people will visit Glide this weekend, to take a minute to smell the flowers.

The annual Glide Wildflower Show is kicking off Saturday.

The family friendly event will feature presentations on worrisome weeds, edible greenery and medicinal plant uses.

"it is big for Glide, and people have really grabbed ahold of that," said Wildflower Council President Jeanne Moore. "It's great, it's good for Glide."

Moore says that they are asking for a $3 suggested donation at the door.

The fragrant fair is being held at the Glide Community Center Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There will be a variety of classes and clinics for botany enthusiasts to enjoy, such as the 'Weeds to Worry About' and 'Medicinal and Edible Plant Use.'

You can visit the Glide Wildflower Show Web site for information on the events being held during the show.
