Baby heading for Seattle, hoping for new heart

SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- A few weeks ago, KPIC News brought you the story of Karter James Fisher, a Sutherlin infant with a heart defect.

Karter was born with Ebstein's Anomaly, which basically means that valves in his heart are switched and not working properly.

His mother, Danielle Fisher, 20, of Sutherlin, says that Karter is not doing well.

He is scheduled to go to Seattle in the next few days, where he'll undergo a small surgery. Then he will wait for a new heart.

The family has a fund set up to help pay for expenses.

So far, Danielle says it's been a huge help, but she says any size donation would help her and her young son.

If you would like to donate, you can stop by any US Bank branch and make a donation to the Karter James Fund.
