Benefit concert set for former music teacher
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Some Roseburg High School students have organized a benefit concert for their music mentor.
Hayley Ziebart was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma last September, but before she got sick, she was a music teacher.
Now, her former students are rallying together to help Hayley and her family, and they're using the same thing Hayley has been helping them fine-tune for years: their music.
Organizers say Ziebart is a warm, caring woman. "She builds you up as a person and as a singer," said organizer Kacie Norris. "I just love being around her, she's kind of like a mentor-type figure to me."
Performances will range from Broadway hits to contemporary music.
Organizers are asking for a $5 donation, which will go to the Ziebart family.
That's taking place this Friday at 7:00 pm at Roseburg High School.
