Bigfoot believer shares hairs: 'I wouldn't give it up for anything'

SUTHERLIN, Ore. - Betty Klopp has been holding on to these strands of hair and bits of skin for nearly 45 years.
"Of course I've kept it," Klopp told KPIC News. "I wouldn't give it up for anything."
She believes the clumps came from a bigfoot.
No one has proven the existence of bigfoot - or sasquatch or yeti or skunk ape, as some call the creature.
Klopp is convinced the forest dweller is really out there.
"Oh definitely," she said. "I don't think people should go around shooting him if they find him."
Her sasquatch keepsake comes from her parents. Klopp said her parents were driving along in the 1960s, towing a small trailer, when they swerved off the road to avoid hitting what they believed was a man.
Klopp said her parents stopped at the Porter Creek Store to assess what had happened. They got out of the car and searched the area, but they found nothing.
The next day, her parents discovered pieces of skin and hair snagged on the trailer.
"This is something you don't run into every day, quite literally," Klopp said.
She said the material was sent to the University of Montana for testing about 3 years ago. The results showed the DNA was too deteriorated and the hair too degraded to make any identification.
Klopp still believes. She decided to share her story after hearing reports that someone in Texas had killed a bigfoot.
"There are reports that someone has one and has shot it and is storing it in his freezer," Klopp said. "I would like to know for sure."
Just to keep everyone up to date on what is going on with the claim of a dead body in storage in Nevada by Rick Dyer. It has not been proved a hoax yet. I'll keep you informed. A man observed a bigfoot at China Flat, south of Powers, Coos County, March 18, 2013. He reported it to the Powers FS office. I called and they had no record of the sighting. Why don't they keep records and tell the public when they ask about them? At least two men know , besides the observer, know that a report was given to the office. I called and the woman I talked to acted as if she'd never heard of a bigfoot. Hmmm...
I don't know why so many people find this subject of bigfoot/sasquatch so funny. I write and have for six years a bigfoot newspaper column here in Douglas County. If Rick Dyer has a body in storage in Nevada as he claims, the whole subject will take on very serious tones. Please check out my online bigfoot magazine site where you will find the newspaper column. w w w.bigfoot ballyhoo. blog spot. c o m (No spaces in the address)
Oh yes I will never give it up (because it's fake lady!)
My mom has big feet. I'll ask her if she was ever in the area.
They can determine species, age, & sex from dna thousands of years old but a 45 year old specimen is too deteriorated? Might send it to another lab..
@plantist the DNA from thousands of years ago is coming from inside bones and teeth where the cell tissue is still intact. the hair and bits of tissue she has, has been sitting out for 40+ years drying out which breaks the cell walls and ruins the DNA.
bigfoots is good eatin'. got two in my freezer right now...
Lived in Tenmile all my life and my grand parents settled here in 1946 I can tell you in all those years of hunting in this area not one sign or sighting of Big Foot but I can tell you there have always been cow's in that area more than sure that is what it was from also could have been horse hair but I doubt seriously it was from a big foot lol ...
We were also convinced that the earth was flat.

Over 200 DNA samples. Do your homework before you decide they exist. There are also over 100 videos that have been proven over and over that they are real creatures.
She's just saying she does, because Finding Bigfoot that aired on Sunday was filmed in Cottage Grove.

I'm not a firm believer at all....but I do think that if he does exist...he is really smart when it comes to never being caught.
Id like to believe he is out there...but if he isnt it sure makes for some great camp fire stories....
If Bigfoot were real, there would be more than one and they would procreate and there would be more sightings and at least ONE decent picture. No, I do not believe this is real. I do believe that SHE believes he's real. It is Sutherlin, after all.
Well hell yes...havent we all......love Bigfoot.
Wow... Alrighty then!
Cow hair? Lol dang that cow needs a hair cut!

All of these non believers need to get off there couch and explore the great outdoors lol Sheltered lives won't get you anywhere haha
Not that I believe, I dont think there is any such thing!
The article said she did send it off for a DNA test but it was too old...
People need to be more careful about what kind of mushrooms they are eating.
if she does in fact have some hair it would be now a simple matter to do a DNA test to see what sort of hair.
I believe to Karen your not alone
It's a bunch of bs ...no such thing. dumb!
If Bigfoot really existed, don't you think we would have found remains?
