Bomb squad responds to governor's offices at Oregon Capitol
SALEM, Ore. - The bomb squad responded to the governor's office at the Oregon State Capitol after an unknown man left a package there Tuesday morning.
About 20 employees were asked to leave the office space after state troopers responded at 10:50 a.m.
Bomb technicians responded and x-rayed the package, determing it contained paper items.
Employees were allowed back into the office area at 11:25 a.m.
Oregon State Police identified and took into protective custody for a mental evaluation a 48-year old Salem-area man related to the package.
The man was taken to Salem Hospital for the evaluation and was not arrested.
